The Team was commissioned by Dhahiat Sumou to produce detailed public realm and landscape proposals for the 160 hectare first phase of a high quality residential-led mixed use community to the west of the Holy City of Mecca in western Saudi Arabia.

The scheme consists of 23 different parks and open spaces in addition to a significant highway buffer corridor which accommodates the existing symbol gateway to Mecca. Further, the full street system is proposed to be included as a key element of the emerging proposals.

The delivery of the detailed design proposals is proposed to coincide with the design of the initial phase of buildings and site infrastructure.
