Cranleigh School Masterplan

This Masterplan includes a broad range of planned initiatives for Cranleigh School in Surrey. The Masterplan’s central objectives are to set out the history of the school, its evolution over time, its needs in the present and its aspirations for the future with particular emphasis on the short-, medium- and long-term phasing of proposed new academic and pastoral buildings, infrastructure and sports facilities.

The schemes envisaged in the short term to 2020 include an extension to West boarding house for girls. By balancing the number of girls attending the school, numbers of pupils are expected to rise from 627 at present to 700 pupils within the coming four years.

Architects have been instructed to prepare various schemes and individual applications will be submitted from 2016. In addition, a new academic block is proposed at the senior school coupled with repositioned squash courts and works department; the Preparatory School. Additional staff will be required to cater for the increase in pupil numbers and projects are also proposed to ensure provision of new staff housing on-site.
